Since
2002 the Friends Of The Firs, a group formed by patrons of the
Firs, Wolverhampton have raised in excess of £125,000 for
local charities. Their latest event an ascent of Ben Nevis should raise in excess of £10,000 and a 100km walk across the Sahara
Trek, and lead up to it, raised £35,000 for Compton Hospice.
In
recognition of this the Firs was nominated one of the top Pathfinder
Pubs in the country for raising funds for worthy charities.
Over
the years charities benefiting have included The Happy Society,
Compton Hospice, Guide Dogs For the Blind, New Cross Hospital
and many more.
